Upgrading to Windows 11
Sidexis 4.3 is not compatible with Windows 11, particularly on RCU Servers with Dentsply Sirona Orthophos CBCT machines. Therefore, Abacus recommends upgrading your Sidexis to version 4.4 before upgrading to Windows 11.
Sidexis 4.4 has been designed to work with Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022. It brings new features such as DS Core for secure cloud storage with the look and feel designed to match other Dentsply Sirona software such as CEREC and Inlab.
Endo layout
Get to know the Endo layout for diagnosing 3D renderings. With the help of this feature, it’s easy to bring two objects into the same plane, e.g. neighboring root canals.
Intuitive design and efficient workflow
Timeline
Thanks to Timeline, an overview of the patient’s entire history can be viewed at a glance. This allows you to add an intuitive time dimension to your diagnostic options.
Light box
The Sidexis 4 digital light box is characterised by its flexibility, displaying all image types seamlessly in one software interface. All 2D, 3D and intraoral images can be processed and viewed at the same time – ensuring all imaging data is available for the diagnostic process.
For example, a quick cross-comparison of an intraoral image and a 3D scan is made possible – facilitating your diagnosis and treatment planning process considerably. This intuitive software thus provides the ideal conditions for your diagnosis, from patient consulting to treatment planning and simulation.
Compare function
The useful “Compare” function is one of the software features where you will ask yourself as a user why this tool has not always been available: working in the compare window, you can evaluate several images at the same time.
IMPORTANT
Do not install Version 4.4 as an update on your existing Sidexis 4 WITHOUT A NEW LICENSE for Version 4.4. Otherwise, your Sidexis 4 will not work anymore.
End of support for Sidexis XG
Sidexis XG is now EoL (End of Life) and is no longer being supported by Dentsply Sirona. Sidexis XG 2.6.3 is the last version which is Windows 10 compatible.

Upgrade Sidexis from any version
As old computers are replaced with new models on newer versions of Windows, many practices find that their imaging software cannot run on the new equipment. In fact, prior to any hardware upgrade, a full audit of existing software should be performed. After all, you wouldn’t want to invest in hardware only to be surprised with more expense.
